Our Preschool classes are different
At Ignite Dance Co., we regard instilling a love of dance as one of our most important jobs. Our preschool program Ignite Kids does just that, and so much more! A joyful, nurturing space where little people explore movement, music, and self-expression.
Created by an early childhood professional, our program is thoughtfully designed for children aged 2-5, introducing foundations of both ballet & jazz.
It’s no secret that through movement, dance facilitates an abundance of physical development - strengthening co-ordination, balance, spatial awareness, gross & fine motor skills. The special thing about dance is the ability to also include learning in musicality, rhythm and performance skills!
What you might not realise straight away? The life skills our preschool program fosters. Confidence, independence and not to mention amazing school-readiness skills in turn taking, following instructions and working as a team!
But what makes Ignite Kids different?
IHow classes are run - Each class is led by nurturing teachers who are not only highly trained, but who also understand preschoolers - their needs, their quirks and their potential!
What classes look like - we understand that little people need to feel safe & comfortable to learn & grow to their full potential. For some, this means having their grown up in sight or with them for the start of class. Every child is different, and others might be bounding into class on their own from day one. Either way, we create space for every one of our little dancers to grow confidence & connection with their teachers before fully developing the independence needed. Parents are permitted to stay in class as needed, and encouraged to gradually move to the waiting area as confidence grows.
What classes feel like - The joy of dance is at the centre of each class. Our preschool classes are kept to perfect sizes - small enough to ensure individual attention, lively enough to create a beautiful sense of community.
Got a little mover & groover at home? We take budding dancers from the age of two!
